DMC Balance Guide

Balancing can be tricky, especially when you don't know what you're balancing against. That's what this page is for, this is a breakdown of values found in the base rosters to help you understand the general power scale of this range of devices and balance accordingly. For more information on the specific values each monster has you can head on over to the digitama hatchery where all the monsters have their individual attributes listed.

This guide will break down the stats that might be a bit less obvious, explain their use, give you the ranges that they typically fall in for each evolutionary stage, and give you an idea of how values in that range are distributed. Additional information regarding the Godzilla device is also given but kept seperate since the range on that device is slightly different from the base devices.

Energy

Energy, sometimes called DP, is simply the amount of battles that your monster can take on before refusing to do any more. Your monster's current energy can be viewed as a bar representing how much is left in the status menu and it will reset to the value set in the monster's stats each day. This stat is consistent across all monsters in a given evolutionary stage.

Stage Energy
Baby I/Baby II 0
Child 20
Adult 30
Perfect 40
Ultimate/Super Ultimate 50

Min. Weight

Minimum weight is simply the lowest value that the monster's weight can be.

Baby I

Baby I monsters' min. weight is almost always 5 but Zurumon's notable for having 4 instead.

Baby II

Baby II monsters' min. weight is almost always 10 but Pagumon's notable for having 8 instead.

Child

Child monsters' min. weights have a range of 15 - 20 with no corrolation to care or power. On the Godzilla device Monodramon's min. weight is 40, making it a significant outlier.

Adult

Adult monsters' min. weights have a range of 10 - 40 with 10 only being used for some fail growth adults, excluding these adults the range is instead 20 - 40. Typically they are multiples of ten but Centalmon has a min. weight of 28, implying that they can be any arbitrary value. On the Godzilla device King Ghidorah's min. weight is 60, making it a significant outlier.

Perfect

Perfect monsters' min. weights have a range of 5 - 50, with 5 only being used for the 8x8 perfects and both 10 and 50 only being represented by one monster each. In all other cases this value is either 20 or 40. On the Godzilla device Mecha-King Ghidorah's min. weight is 80, making it a significant outlier. The Godzilla device features a different range, with perfect monsters (excluding Mecha-King Ghidora) having min. weights of 30, 40, or 50.

Ultimate

Ultimate monsters' min. weights have a range of 5 - 50 with 5 only being used for Bancho Mamemon and Skull Mammon, excluding these outliers the range is instead 25 - 50. Typically they are multiples of ten but several monsters, such as Darkdramon, have min. weights such as 32 or 28, implying that they can be any arbitrary value. On the Godzilla device Ultimates instead have min. weights in the range of 20-70 always in multiples of ten.

Super Ultimate

Super Ultimate monsters' min. weights have a range of 32 - 50, likely following guides for other ultimates.

Lifespan

Lifespan is the amount of time in minutes that a monster will spend in a given form before attempting to evolve or, failing that, beginning their old age death vulnerability. This stat is consistent across all monsters in a given evolutionary stage.

Stage Lifespan
Baby I 10
Baby II 720
Child 1440
Adult 2160
Perfect 2880
Ultimate/Super Ultimate 2880

Sleep Time

Sleep time is the time each night that your monster will begin going to sleep. All monsters have the minutes set to 0 for this so this section will only detail the hours, which are recorded in 24 hour format.

Baby I

Baby I monsters' sleep hour is always 0 but baby I monsters do not use the regular sleep methods and will simply never fall asleep.

Baby II

Baby II monsters' sleep hour is always 20, making it 8pm.

Child

Child monsters' sleep hours have a range of 20 - 22 with the bad care child going to bed an hour later than the good care child.

Adult

Adult monsters' sleep hours have a range of 21 - 24 without a strong indicator of how they might be distributed, except relative to one another. The good care child's exclusive abnormal growth adult typically goes to sleep an hour later than their exclusive normal growth adult while the opposite tends to be true of both the bad care child's exclusive adult forms and the shared adult forms. The earliest bed time tends to be the bad care child's abnormal growth adult. The Godzilla device's range is instead 21 - 23.

Perfect

Perfect monsters' sleep hours have a range of 20 - 23, with 20 only being used by Metal Greymon, excluding this outlier the range is instead 21-23. Typically this is distributed as 22 for the regular growth perfect, 21 for the abnormal growth perfect, and 23 for the fail growth perfect (inc. Chimeramon). The Godzilla device's range is instead 22 - 23

Ultimate (inc. Super Ultimate)

Ultimate monsters' sleep hour is always 23. On the Godzilla device Ultimates instead have sleep hours of either 23 or 24, with the chibis being outlier having sleep hours of 21 instead.

Wake Time

Wake time is the time each morning that your monster will wake up and begin draining their stats again. All monsters across the DMC range have this set to 8 with 0 minutes.

Hunger/Strength Timers

The hunger and strength timers are the length of time it takes for your monster's hunger and strength hearts to decrease by 1, represented in minutes.

Baby I

Baby I monsters' hunger and strength timers are always 3.

Baby II

Baby II monsters' hunger and strength timers are always 30.

Child

Child monsters' hunger and strength timers are both 48 for good care children and 38 for bad care children. On the Godzilla device Baby Godzilla has both set to 38 while the other two child forms have both set to 48.

Adult

Adult monsters' hunger and strength timers are both the same and typically determined by the type of adult as shown on the table below. The only exception is Garurumon who has a typical hunger timer but a shorter strength timer of 48, this could be an error but does create precedent for more inventive timers. The Godzilla device has the same ranges though due to it's more involved evolution tree the distribution cannot be summerised as easily.

Adult type Value
Good care child exclusives 59
Shared non-fail adults 48
Bad care child exclusives 38
Fail evo adults 28

Perfect

Perfect monsters' hunger and strength timers are both 59 for regular and abnormal growth perfects and 48 for fail growth perfects (inc. Chimeramon). On the Godzilla device this range is extended to include 38 minute timers for some weaker monsters, and 66 minute timers for Godzilla 1954, but they remain the same number in both fields.

Ultimate

Ultimate monsters' hunger and strength timers are either both 59 or both 48. The regular growth ultimate always has 59 in both and while the abnormal growth ultimate typically has 59 in both and the fail growth ultimate typically has 48 in both though the latter two adult types can be switched as seen on the version 3. These values are the same on the Godzilla except for Burning Godzilla who has 38 in both.

Super Ultimate

Super ultimate monsters' hunger and strength timers can be 66, 59, or 48 with the values the same in each field. This follows no particular distribution.

Bowel Timer

The bowel timer is the amount of time your monster takes between pooping in minutes. This value only differs for the baby stages.

Stage Time in minutes
Baby I 3
Baby II 30
Child+ 120

Heal Amount

Heal amount is the amount of times you'll need to use medicine if your monster gets injured.

Baby I

All baby I monsters have 0 in this field though it remains unused in vanilla gameplay due to there being no way to injury a baby I monster.

Baby II

All baby II monsters have 1 in this field.

Child

All child monsters have 2 in this field. On the Godzilla device Baby Godzilla only has a 1 in this field, though the other children still have a 2.

Adult

Adult monsters have a range of heal amounts between 1 - 3, these are distributed as shown below. On the Godzilla device this range is upheld, though the distribution is different.

Adult type Value
Regular growth 1
Abnormal growth 2

Ultimate monsters have a range of 1 - 2 in this field, 1 being the common value with 2 being held by three of the fail growth perfects and Gokumon. The Godzilla device offers the same range.

Super Ultimate

All super ultimate monsters have a heal amount of 1.

Power

Power is the monster's fighting potential, used as part of the formula for determining who wins a battle.

Perfect

Perfect monsters have power stats of 85 or 100 distributed as listed below. The Godzilla device expands this to give monsters a variety of values between 70 and 110.

Perfect type Power
Regular growth 100
Abnormal growth 85
Fail growth (inc. Chimeramon) 100

Ultimate

Ultimate monsters have power stats of 150, 170, or 180 distributed in a variety of ways. The Godzilla device expands this to give monsters power stats of various multiples of 5 in the range 130 (145 if chibis are ignored) - 220 (190 if Burning Godzilla is ignored).

Super Ultimate

All super ultimate monsters have a power stat of 200.
